Crazy Day at the Rink

Saturday is lessons from 9 - 3  / we had a winter storm yesterday / snow / icy rain / sleet / = slush in all it degrees of slushness ~ frozen hard stiff crunchy slidey slurpy / so ~

Someone in the higher echelon of rink management cancelled classes / told no one until staff turned up for work / o no / but we'll stay anyway we say and Skate for ourselves / oh yes / and if anyone shows up for lessons they can skate too

it's a Free Skate !

most everyone wanted to skate / yes / parents too ? / oh yes / oh yes

So we had a lot of fun / an unexpected treat /   all the most eager enthusiastic students of all levels from Pre Alpha Plus (never been on skates before ) to Free Style #3 level

Little kids / Big ones too / coming for their first lesson / and we just turned 'em loose

Usually the 1st lesson takes up Fitting Your Boots / Falling Down and Getting Up so we did a lot of that -

So  much more relaxed !  The first day of lessons is usually so tense

Oh and At Last

I am able to execute a rudimentary (slow!) hockey stop
