Last day of August

when you bring preconceived mind set to a situation or circumstance
or hold your own preformed idea of who someone is you enter a phase
called brain lock

it's similar to having tunnel vision

release yourself from *pre* conception

and conception will expand

you must perceive to conceive

and be aware on a broad level to perceive

we are at the impasse

Silver Whistle

my daughter is going to a gathering of women to summon up
energy and power for a friend who needs help coming unstuck
from a frightful dilemma / she needs to sell her business and
leave an abusive man behind

things are dragging out so she asked her friends for help

the call goes out / the women gather their forces

i thought i might go to the gathering
until i learned about the drumming

i asked if there would be a lot of drumming
(my frequencies are disturbed by certain kinds
of drumming, i said)

she says the drumming is essential to bring you
back along the shamanic trail

oh

hmmmm

i said i will send good energy from home

i got out my silver whistle

"Rink guards are required to carry a whistle"
(from the ice skating rink manual)

at the moment i intuited that they were drumming
their way home i went outside and blew my whistle

some fun / i blew and blew and blew

and i blew the whistle some more

i really do like things you blow more than things you beat or hit or thump
when it comes right down to it / or maybe things that shake rattle and roll

Standstill at the Turning Point

Standstill at the Turning Point becomes an Impasse

an impasse being an Impossible situation
like being between a rock and a hard place

solutions will not be found / that is / will not result
from a search but will present themselves in due time

will they drop from the sky ?
well up from the earth ?

most likely they will spring forth from the spot
between your eyes
(i don't mean your nose)

do you mean The Third Eye ?

perhaps

the Third Eye sees beyond the moment of now

the Third Eye sees All

the Third Eye has a far flung perspective

knowing even as we speak
even as we write
even as we claim
we cant go on
we are going on

you are still breathing are you not ?

your heart is still beating / your blood is pulsing
your eyelids blinking / your mouth even now almost
just almost twitching into a tiny smile and that little spirit
that motivates you is curling up your spine and tingling through
your body and after all you are Alive and Well

today i had my eyes examined
the good news is i dont need stronger glasses
my eyes are not that much different than last year
even though i see horses on the slick rock instead of bicycles

some little cataracts instead

no big deal, the doc sez
they can be peeled off
he shows me a big eyeball that comes apart

okay

this time in august 1988 let's see what was happening

i saw an ant bump into a bee on the water saucer (that i keep
on the kitchen window sill to provide water for the bees)
(the ants like it too)

i am reading The Sugar Mother by Elizabeth Jolley
quite the bizarre author / she is an Australian / each one of her books
that i have read is stranger than the one before

the Last Cat looks just like the first cat whose name was Spider
(that was in Rome in 1968)

I am turning over another new leaf

today began at 5am with a coyote chasing the The Last Cat

end of day Murphy causes an accident up on topanga canyon blvd.
during commuter traffic time / "that @#$%^&" darn dog" i hear someone say

Murphy comes running down through the trees
we head for the hills just in time to see the sunset
while an argument ensues above

i spoke to no one today except Murphy, cat, bunnies, birds, ants, bees and spiders

the last batch of weed truly illustrates why it is called dope
(Quick burn down to blister lip (lotsa times)

o - Elizabeth Jolley in The Sugar Mother mentions the Edelweis
- an unexpected and expensive German restaurant in Madrid
(one of my all time favorites)

once we were flying to Rio from Rome / we had a stop in Madrid
just long enough to grab a taxi and have a meal at the Edelweis
those were the daze

Shaping Up

i've noticed that neuron pathways do not stay permanently blocked
just when you least expect it and for no apparent reason at all
they open up and stuff you thought you had put by, away, outa sight
bursts forth in all its radiance

The Essential Lull

Are you bright enough to understand that reality is shot through with large empty spaces, spaces you could drive a truck through, or conjure up a trick, spaces in which nothing whatsever ocurs? Huh?

In the world of the Improvaho these large empty spaces are called Essential Lulls.

Essential Lulls are designed to avoid foolish moves in public.

Furthermore Essential Lulls often are characterized by forms of restless energy that provoke one into thinking that Something Must Be Done or A Major Decision Affecting the Rest of One's life must be agreed upon and announced to all and sundry.

Nothing could be further from the 'truth' (there will have to be elaborate footnotes regarding 'truth' and its Consequences)

Meanwhile back to the issue of Restless Energy. Often Restless Energy can indicate a need to Rest More.

Hence the Essential Lull is a useful phase for mulling over dreams and schemes that may or may not be necessary to fulfill.

Or you may sit in the sun and wait for the Hummingbird to discover the three white cactus flowers (or other activity suitable to your eco-system and environment)

An Essential Lull is also a fine time to meditate on the Fine Art of Postponement.

I need to think a bit more about this, if you dont mind. Stay tuned in for possibilitease and fresh discoverease now taking shape.
