wandering on

splitting my infinitive

x-ing out the xtraneous

trimming my trip

i saw something amazing today

on a pbs cooking show a chef placed a dozen or so sungold cherry tomatoes on his cutting board

holding them still with the palm of his hand he took what must have been an exceedingly sharp knife and sliced all the cherry tomatoes in half with a horizontal sweep

that’s impressive

he sliced a cucumber into thin rounds / he overlapped the slices on the cutting board like fish scales / with that wonderfully sharp knife he worked his way down the line of sllices chopping them into thin slivers

wow

++++++++++
